School closed

This week didn’t quite go as I had planned it to. Yesterday we got a message that my sons school is closed the whole week because of 3 teachers tested positive with Covid19. So, the plans I had went down the drain and instead I have to figure out other things that I can do downstairs. Like fabric Christmas trees. ????

Pattern for the tree is from patterns for pirates!

Vacation and celebration!

After soon a week in my homecountry, we are tomorrow going back to Netherlands. As usual when I have been away from my work, I have PLENTY of ideas what to make of what.

We have been celebrating my youngest brother (he turned 25 years), my son (turns 5 in a week) and my mum who turns 59 the 2nd November. Plenty of hugs and cakes!

And I refilled my sweet Tweety who had gotten old and colorless!

Got some sewing done today!

It has been a week or so since the last time I saw my machines. Been planning and cutting fabrics and of course, having your kid at home, makes everything go a bit slower. But yeah, I do prefer being with him anyway hehe. But today I finally got to sew a bit. 2 finished items! One for my son and the other for his bestie. The shirts pattern is Swank T-shirt and the skit, butterfly skirt, both from Puperita.

Birthday and lockdown

Yep, you got to live it all they say. Birthday in lockdown. Me and my 2 boys. My son decided that we needed chocolate cake with candles so I was shopping for candles yesterday. He also bought some extra cookies so we could eat a lot (his words). He has been SO VERY EXCITED the whole day that it is his mommy’s birthday, he has been asking every 3 mins when we are having cake lol. My partner had decorated the livingroom this morning before I came up! I got some awesome gifts! Poffertjes (google it lol) pan and a humidifier! And I got a lovely bouquet from my very dear friend in the street. I will certainly remember this one way or another hehe.

Coron lockdown and to stay sane!

Just like the rest of the world kind of, we are in a lockdown here in NL. Which means everything is closed (except for supermarkets, essential shops and pharmacies and stuff like that) and we have the kids at home. My kid is so far doing great with this. I have found enough things to keep him entertained + the weather has been awesome so he is outside playing a lot. The rule of stay inside does not apply to kids under 12. They are allowed to be outside and play together. So, here are some of the things we have done so far. Plus an awesome fabric I am going to make a shirt for my son of.

A thank you note

So, I was thinking how to solve the whole “how to wash and iron” in the clothes. Since I make a lot of small clothes, ironing tags in there will not look good. So I am going to print a thank you note with washing instructions and add that to the packages I give when I have finished an order. That should be a nice way of getting what you ordered?

Some of my latest work!

Lately, I have been up to quite a lot! School vacations and an ill kid but managed to get work done anyway. I have had some orders and right now I am working on a big cross stitch piece for my friends daughter. A calendar for December where you hang small gifts in.

I have had some orders from a new friend, one of the moms from my sons class.

And then ofc some things that are going up in the shop soon! I am hoping that I will have enough to make a summer yard sale in my garden!

Cameo stuff

Birthday gifts

As some of you know, I got this really nice machine to cut heat transfer and vinyl with, for my birthday. My partner also got a heat press to better be able to make nice prints stuck. I am always on the lookout for new files, as in funny/cute texts, to use for my shop. I recently found the Mega craft Bundle and I must say, I am very happy with it.

The bundle

You get a whole bundle with a nice discount. A lot of already made texts that you just load to your machine and cut, rinse and press. I loved the first bundle I bought and now there is a new one for sale. A woman can never get enough of fonts right? ???? Anyhow, if you have a Cameo for example, you should really look in to this site that I have linked here under. Maybe it’s something for you as well!

Here is one of them!

You get .svg files, fonts and jpg files. The .svg, you can import to your Silhouette studio program and edit them how you want. You get the commercial rights as well when you buy it, which means you can use it on stuff you make and sell. Also the fonts you are allowed to use in your shop for example.

The ideas!

I have so many ideas, feels like my head is going to go boom off and on haha. I just need to finish all the patterns I need to draw first. THEN I can finally start making cute and cool clothes with texts on. I have some saved already that I am going to use, I have even bought baby blue and baby pink heat transfer to use on rompers/shirts. I have bought woven fabric to make re usable bags (with ofc funny texts on) and also to make microwave rice bags. You know those you heat up in the microwave and use it for soar shoulders for example.
