When the child is away…

…the mother gets things done, even on a Saturday!! 😀 So my partner and my son is away on adventures today. The sewing room is WAY too hot now (it has the morning sun) so I decided to work with Silhouette studio a bit. I still need name tags and size tags. Decided to make it all in vinyl after all. So, this is what I have been doing, also some texts to put on rompers and bags (not only the name, I have also done for all sizes). I am going up to the room now to try and air some of the heat out. Wish me luck!

Paper paper paper!

Well, I started this company the 1st of May. The 3rd , I went to Sweden for 10 days. So from the 14th May til now, I have used up roughly 6 rolls of tracing paper. They are 10 m long and 1 m wide. It is safe to say that I have been tracing some patterns lately. ???? And I still have more to go before the production of clothes start. I want the ones I have printed, traced, before cutting fabric because of the simple fact, it is so much more fun to sew than to trace!!

Loss, grief, anger

It is OK to feel all those things. Or so I am told. We had to put our beloved cat to sleep last Thursday and it hurts… lots. Yesterday I was alone for the first time since it happened and it was hard. No one to be strong for, just let all those emotions overwhelm you.

I did what I do best when something is up. (Life hasn’t really thrown roses at me lately) I create. It gives my mind peace and I can process things in my own way. Music and creations is the way for me to get through whatever lemons life is throwing at me.

A patchwork plaid almost done. I just need to figure out what to have on the back and if I want filling in it.
I also made a shirt for myself in this fabric, better pic will come when it is dry. (washed it last night)

Another print made

Fathers day is this Sunday in The Netherlands. So a friend of mine asked me to make a print for her partner who has 2 kids and one bonus kid. Said and done! I became very happy with the outcome! I imagined it being harder than it was to make it straight. It is strange, on the picture it looks like DEZE it gray, it is not. It is white!

And as usual when I work, I have company by my son. He says he is working too! With glue and paper, that is his work haha.

Cameo stuff

Birthday gifts

As some of you know, I got this really nice machine to cut heat transfer and vinyl with, for my birthday. My partner also got a heat press to better be able to make nice prints stuck. I am always on the lookout for new files, as in funny/cute texts, to use for my shop. I recently found the Mega craft Bundle and I must say, I am very happy with it.

The bundle

You get a whole bundle with a nice discount. A lot of already made texts that you just load to your machine and cut, rinse and press. I loved the first bundle I bought and now there is a new one for sale. A woman can never get enough of fonts right? ???? Anyhow, if you have a Cameo for example, you should really look in to this site that I have linked here under. Maybe it’s something for you as well!

Here is one of them!

You get .svg files, fonts and jpg files. The .svg, you can import to your Silhouette studio program and edit them how you want. You get the commercial rights as well when you buy it, which means you can use it on stuff you make and sell. Also the fonts you are allowed to use in your shop for example.

The ideas!

I have so many ideas, feels like my head is going to go boom off and on haha. I just need to finish all the patterns I need to draw first. THEN I can finally start making cute and cool clothes with texts on. I have some saved already that I am going to use, I have even bought baby blue and baby pink heat transfer to use on rompers/shirts. I have bought woven fabric to make re usable bags (with ofc funny texts on) and also to make microwave rice bags. You know those you heat up in the microwave and use it for soar shoulders for example.

Squares!

Started sorting all the small squares I have saved. To get them a bit color coordinated. And to know how much I have of each. Oh my I have many! Well as you can see on the pictures, I am not even close to done so I guess I will continue after the monster (my son) has gone to bed. If he is with me, all he will do is telling me ALL the things he wants me to make for him! Which I do not mind doing but maybe not with small squares ????

Orders done and now more patterns!

So, I have bought some more patterns that I need to draw. I came over some woven fabric but I didn’t have any patterns for it. But thanks to Puperita, now I do! I also have washed ALL the fabrics to not have to wash all the clothes separately after making them. To save some water and electricity. So, after going to the supermarket, I am going to continue the drawing of patterns. I can’t wait til I am done so I can start creating! The picture is of pattern for headbands, nice use of scraps. Pattern is from Hallonsmula.

At least some things done!

After a night of very little sleep, I at least got some things done today! After dropping my son at the school, I finished some stuff I started on Thursday. I love the fabric with ladybugs on! Reminds of a summer that is soon coming. So 3 garments were made. The shorts and romper pattern is from Puperita and the tank tops are pattern from Patterns for Pirates. It’s the first time I make any of them so quite proud of how they turned out. Tomorrow I am back to drawing patterns again.

Drawing, cutting, drawing, cutting

Yep, that is what I have been doing the last week. Except for pressing on some shirts for a friend who went to a Backstreet boys concert and starting another friends wish, I have been drawing patterns. The hing is, there is like 8 or 9 sizes in a pattern, and 4-8 pattern pieces so… It is a lot of drawing and cutting. So I am doing it all now so I don’t have to do it later, then I can focus on sewing instead wohooo!

I have found a really awesome pattern creator, Puperita, found her on Etsy. I will have 8 or so, clothes from her patterns in my shop. Also, my favorites, Patterns for Pirates and it’s sister Made for Mermaids and Mamma can do it. Go check them out!
