Pandemic, death in family and mouth caps!

Yeah, where to start. Pandemic, yes, still on lockdown, schools are at least open half time.

My dad passed away after a year of cancer. So suddenly I had to find a way to get to Sweden, even though it was a pandemic. But I had some papers allowing me and Chris to go. We lived at my mums spare room, I got to say the last goodbye to my dad at the funeral.

But, I have also been up to things while staying inside and grieving. Sewing is AWESOME medicine!

And ofc… Getting FURIOUS at people trying to make a lot of money on people who wants mouth caps. 20!!! Euros for a mouth cap they way. Hell no. 3.50 I took for the materials for my friends. Since I am a company, I can’t give them for free 🙁 But I made 16 of them as requested from friends and need to make another 6 tomorrow or so for another friend.

Orders to Sweden

I got an order that needs to go to Sweden so I decided to ship away my sons gift to his grandma as well at the same time. And also her pillow cases I have made. I just forgot to take a picture of them before shipping them so that will come later. The order to Sweden was a lot of fun! 2 sets, in each set hat, bib, pants and a romper with text. I also had another order that I was supposed to bring with my trip to there but I have a feeling that trip will be cancelled so I shipped that one as well.
The pattern for the pants are from Puperita, as usual.

On a roll!

Except for the machine needed to be re-threaded 10 times to be happy, I am on a roll! Fixed the width of my son’s bestie’s skirt I made yesterday (when she jumped, she lost it haha) so added elastic to it. I also dropped off the cross stitch work i made a week ago and she will deliver home-made dumplings later today, YUMMY! And 2 clothing were made for my son, a pair of pants and a shirt. Both are patterns from Puperita, Jungle pants and Swank t-shirt.

Some items made and some items sent away!

Today, Sunday, has not been a rest day what-so-ever! I have fixed up some of the clothes I made with my old name and removed those tags. And also packed them to be sent to Sweden, to a good friend who will donate them to people that needs them.

Also I have sorted the last rhinestones today. My son tried to help me for a while but… he didn’t really get the whole idea that they needed to be sorted on size. So I ended up sending him down to get some stuff for me haha.

I have also finished up some headbands and bibs! And ofc placed it all online for people to be able to order. Well, the headband is for my son haha! I hope that I will be able to place more in the shop soon. I am as good as done with the stuff I had laying around.

Next week, I do have something very important to do before anything else though. Some of you, who is friends with me on Facebook, knows that I saved a girl last Thursday. An 8 week baby who had stopped breathing. I want to make her something, something pretty, so that is the first thing I will start on as soon as I have dropped my son in school tomorrow.

Make a wish

Today, me and my family, got the opportunity to celebrate something fantastic. Make a wish, Netherlands ( https://makeawishnederland.org/ ). For my little neighbor Lex. Life hasn’t been kind to him and now that organisation made some of his wishes come true. He came to the place where we gathered, in a police car with lights on and all. He got escorted by motorcycle polices. And when he got out, all of us were there cheering on him. It was so awesome!

Chris was ofc overly happy with celebrating this, his friend Lex. So he nagged on me to have his new shirt on, rainbow with rainbow tiger. Who am I to say no, especially since he had a good argument: Mommy, I didn’t make the shirt dirty, may I please have it on again on Lex day?

An old gaming friend

An old gaming (World of Warcraft) friend contacted me this weekend, asking if I could make something for him. And well, anyone who knows me, knows that I will not say no unless I think I can’t make it. So said and done. Today when C was at the neighbor, playing with his bestie, I had time to create. 1.5 hour from cutting the fabric til the text was on there. Not too bad 😀 The pattern is a Jelly shirt fro the creator Puperita. First one I make but not the last. Easy pattern and came out great!

Loss, grief, anger

It is OK to feel all those things. Or so I am told. We had to put our beloved cat to sleep last Thursday and it hurts… lots. Yesterday I was alone for the first time since it happened and it was hard. No one to be strong for, just let all those emotions overwhelm you.

I did what I do best when something is up. (Life hasn’t really thrown roses at me lately) I create. It gives my mind peace and I can process things in my own way. Music and creations is the way for me to get through whatever lemons life is throwing at me.

A patchwork plaid almost done. I just need to figure out what to have on the back and if I want filling in it.
I also made a shirt for myself in this fabric, better pic will come when it is dry. (washed it last night)

Another print made

Fathers day is this Sunday in The Netherlands. So a friend of mine asked me to make a print for her partner who has 2 kids and one bonus kid. Said and done! I became very happy with the outcome! I imagined it being harder than it was to make it straight. It is strange, on the picture it looks like DEZE it gray, it is not. It is white!

And as usual when I work, I have company by my son. He says he is working too! With glue and paper, that is his work haha.

Orders done and now more patterns!

So, I have bought some more patterns that I need to draw. I came over some woven fabric but I didn’t have any patterns for it. But thanks to Puperita, now I do! I also have washed ALL the fabrics to not have to wash all the clothes separately after making them. To save some water and electricity. So, after going to the supermarket, I am going to continue the drawing of patterns. I can’t wait til I am done so I can start creating! The picture is of pattern for headbands, nice use of scraps. Pattern is from Hallonsmula.
